Our Office

Our office utilizes the latest technology combined with old fashion care. Dr. Podschun and his office offers over 500 modern frame styles and materials to choose from, as well as the latest in ophthalmic lens materials and designs. We fit all types of contact lenses, including bifocal, tinted, disposable, astigmatic, and gas permeable lenses.

Dr. Podschun and his staff have a combined experience of over 80 years. His office not only provides examinations for glasses and contact lenses, but also treats eye disease, eye injuries, and manages eye surgery, for thousands of patients. We fit all types of contact lenses, including bifocal, tinted, disposable, astigmatic, and gas permeable lenses.

Dr. Podschun is a participating provider with many types of insurance, including, VSP, Medicare, Blue Cross & Blue Shield, Champus, Vision Service Plan, Mail Handlers, PCA-Century, Medicaid, and most Medigap plans.

About Dr. Podschun

Caring for eyes since 1986

Dr. James Podschun was born in Wichita, Kansas, October 5, 1960. He graduated an All-American from South-western College of Kansas in 1982, with a B.S. in Biology and a B.A. in Chemistry. In 1986, he completed his degree at the University of Houston, College of Optometry. Jim received four years of training at the Naval Hospital in Orlando and is currently Board Certified to practice optometry in Florida.

Dr. Podschun has also completed 105 hours of advanced training in ocular therapeutics and has passed an examination on treatment and management of ocular disease given by the International Association of Boards of Examiners in Optometry.

Dr. Podschun is a member of the Central Florida Optometric Society, the Florida Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association, the Sports Vision Section fo the A.O.A., and a Fellow in the American Academy of Optometry.
